I was hungry and pizza by the slice sounded great. They have an amazing selection of interesting pizzas from the standard pepperoni to tika masala.
The crust was crispy and the toppings were high quality. I can definitely recommend this place to any pizza lovers -

We ordered 5 single pieces of pizza.
Different toppings.
1. Chicken parm
2.meat lover's
3.supreme type
4.spicy pepperoni and sausage (2)
Pizza was very good. Crust was crunchy. It was hot.
It was pricey. For 5 slices and two drinks it costs us $32.00.
And there were beggars out front. We sat outside and at least two people came to us begging for money for pizza.
I didn't like it. We couldn't eat comfortably.
The service was pretty decent. -

Make sure you take a receipt! The careless or dishonest cashier charged me for 3 slices the last time I was there despite verbally repeating my order for 2 slices.
Also, the person who took my order didn't organize the slices correctly in the oven and let someone else have one of my slices so I had to wait for another slice to heat up. OK, so I get to pay 1.5 the price to wait twice as long... A disappointing experience.
That said, my previous visits to this location have been solid. They're open late at night, usually get pizza out quickly, and have a large range of toppings. My favorites are the Supreme, Chicken Parm, and Sicillian although I haven't encountered anything remotely bad. I also feel at ease eating here since DC health inspections for Wiseguy have been pretty clean thus far. Note that the whole pies are gigantic and come in a large box that may not easily fit inside a fridge.
Overall, I think Wiseguy has the best tasting New York-style big slice pizza in DC although you'll likely end up disappointed if you're expecting something like Joe's Pizza from NYC. Even though there's a slight burnt taste that permeates through everything, the slices are filled with toppings and have vivid flavor. Here's hoping the service remains as solid. -

Horrible service!
Wanted to buy my co-workers lunch. Stopped in at 12:30 on my way to work. Not one other customer in the store. Wanted to order entire margherita pizza and a couple single odd slices. However, only 3/4 of the margherita was immediately available. Attendant said tell cashier I wanted full pizza. I paid for entire order at register. Then as I'm walking away, cashier says it'll be 25 minutes for the pizza. I didn't have that much time. Kindly asked if could make the 3/4 margarita that was left and then substitute the missing pieces for regular cheese that was also already readily available. Female from back rudely yells "NO! We won't do that."
I don't understand the policies. However, I was polite and then asked again so that I could clarify to just to make sure she understood what I was asking. While walking away with her back to me yelled "NOPE!"
Ok then! Unfortunately, Miriam had to turn around one last time and face me in order to void my entire order once I cancelled it. Meanwhile, guy in the background is saying he could have done the order as I was requested without problem and would have only taken 10min.
I had been wanting to try the pizza here for a while. But there are lots of pizza places close by without the rude attitude. Stupid me, it says it right in the name, Wiseguys. -

Wiseguy Pizza was on the list of THE best pizza for Washington DC. If this is their best pizza, I'll just stop here and say, "no more DC pizza for me". Surely someone is being a 'wiseguy' and pulling my leg, right? THIS is the best pizza? No. Just no.
I should've known just by looking at the pictures. I told my husband, "the pictures do not look appetizing. A lot of the slices look dry or overly oily on others". Go with your gut. I'm probably going to make a lot of people (based on the reviews) gasp, but this was probably one of the WORST pizza joints I've ever stopped at; and I know good pizza!
I've eaten at hundreds of different pizza shops from dives to fancy, all across the United States, from NYC to Chicago to California (I've even ordered pizza in Paris, France), from small towns to big cities, and this...this is not good pizza.
The atmosphere is small, but cozy and hip. I like the vibe. And it does in fact give you a New York feel (yes I've had pizza in the Big Apple). The slices are pretty massive, they have a wide variety of strange toppings that you generally wouldn't order on pizza (maybe that's the appeal?)
Personally, I'm just a basic 'pepperoni and cheese' kinda gal. When I get fancy, I might go Hawaiian or Supreme, but nothing really out there. My crust was flimsy, just soaked in grease, the grease was literally running down my arm as I tried to grab it up for a bite. Not a lot of sauce, but that was okay since the sauce was rancid tasting. Nothing great about the taste of the pepperoni. The cheese was possibly the highlight, but even that was nothing to brag about. There was absolutely nothing that I liked about this pizza at all. Never again. Enough said.
